Thermoelectric generators produced by THERMOINTECH LLC (RUSNANO's portfolio company) can use natural and associated gas as fuel. Thus, they can be used to supply electricity to Gazprom's industrial facilities remote from power supply networks.
In November 2010, Gazprom and RUSNANO signed a protocol of joint actions. The document stipulates wider use of nanotechnologies by gas industry companies.
In June 2011, Gazprom approved the Program of innovative development of the company until 2020. The main objective of the Program is to continuously upgrade Gazprom's technological level to maintain its position as a technological leader in the global energy business.
The document contains a set of measures for the development and implementation of Gazprom new technologies, innovative products and services at the extraction, transportation, processing of hydrocarbons and power generation facilities, as well as measures to ensure favorable conditions for intensive innovation development.
The program provides for active cooperation with corporate and third-party scientific organizations in the framework of R & D, state development institutions, higher educational institutions on the organization of joint research and training.
In September 2011, Gazprom and RUSNANO approved the "Program to stimulate demand for innovative, including nanotechnology products in the gas industry."
To date, THERMOINTECH has been developing cooperation with a number of companies within the structure of Gazprom.
